About this property

Welcome to Serena Glamping Tulum

Serena Glamping Tulum offers a unique escape where nature meets comfort along Tulum’s stunning coastline. Nestled at Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila Km 5.2, this eco-friendly retreat earns a solid 4.3-star rating for blending rustic charm with thoughtful amenities. Guests find themselves immersed in a serene jungle setting, yet remain just minutes away from Tulum’s lively hotel zone.

What makes Serena Glamping truly exceptional is its authentic “glamping” experience. The spacious canvas and clay cabins provide open layouts that dissolve the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. Amenities such as hot showers, cozy beds, small safes, and mini-fridges ensure practical comfort while preserving a natural vibe. The mindful design encourages a deep connection with the surrounding greenery and sounds of the jungle, fostering tranquility and relaxation.

Guests repeatedly praise the warm hospitality from host Jaime and his team, who strike the perfect balance between attentiveness and respectful privacy. The daily breakfast stands out as a highlight—fresh, flavorful, and often customized to dietary needs, reflecting the region’s rich culinary heritage with house-made salsas and vibrant Mexican flavors.

The rooftop terrace also provides sweeping views, although some suggest it could benefit from cozier seating to enhance its chill ambiance. Meanwhile, the inclusion of conveniences such as free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking, airport shuttle services, and an inviting pool adds modern ease to this back-to-nature experience.

Serena Glamping Tulum excels as a budget-friendly haven next to the beach. It draws visitors seeking a quiet, reflective getaway surrounded by natural beauty and cultural vibrancy. The massage services further amplify the holistic retreat atmosphere, offering moments of peaceful rejuvenation.

In essence, Serena Glamping is more than just accommodation—it’s an invitation to unplug, breathe deeply, and savor the soul of Tulum. For those craving an immersive stay that honors both comfort and nature, this hidden gem is a rewarding find that lingers in memory long after departure.

We had the best time at this hidden gem. Three friends wandering Mexico found this place along the way and couldn’t have lucked out any better! Located near the “hotel zone” but you wouldn’t know it. Our host was fantastic, available if we needed him but never intrusive. The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the house made salsa was fantastic! The rooms were exactly what we needed and the showers were hot! Best stay in Tulum by far!

Helpful and friendly staff. Great atmosphere and a tasty mexican breakfast. The cook was very attentive and kind. Our room was clean and our bed was made every day. We went up to the rooftop where you have a great view. The only downside was that there wasn't really anything to chill up there. It would have been better, if it were cozier.

I had a week long stay with my partner and I truly believe this is the best hotel we could have stayed in that's next to the beach and budget friendly. We stayed in a jungle room which was a great space and everyone that stayed here was very chill and quiet. Breakfast service was very nice! Our dietary restrictions were asked when we arrived (were pescatarian) and accommodated with a delicious, free 2 course vegetarian breakfast in the crisp, tropical outdoors common area every morning. Although tipping is not required, I would personally highly encourage doing so. The entire staff is very friendly and although my spanish was broken and limited, I was never embarassed. The location is ideal, located before traffic starts (good for when you are taking a taxi out of the hotel zone) and across from the beach. The outdoor gym was beautiful and serene. Although some things are rusty, I was able to do a light version of my workouts. The restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity is the best in the town.

We had a fantastic experience at Serena. Just remember that this is literally “glamping” and not a hotel room. The large canvas/clay houses were great for an experience that makes you feel part of the jungle. Our room was open with just a small wall between the bed and bathroom area. Shower was always hot, a small safe for special itemized and a small fridge for snacks and water. All of the essentials you’ll need without making you feel like you’re at an American resort. The breakfast everyday was delicious and included. The pool area was always empty and we enjoyed our time laying in the water and reading our books. The outdoors jungle gym is so much fun for those looking to keep up their fitness while staying here. The location is great, right near fantastic locals bars and an easy walk to high end restaurants, beach clubs, the national park and convenience stores / atm / money exchanges. The staff was always friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. They even extended our stay when we didn’t want to leave. Remember that you are located in a busy area of town and you’ll be able to hear the clubs at times, but that goes for any hotel you stay at. Highly recommend Serena for anyone looking for a fun jungle experience who doesn’t need all of the posh and glam of a resort style hotel.
